I’m getting ready to start a new online business and I’m looking for the right web hosting service to go with for my site.
The main product I’ll be selling on the site is subscription-based, which means that I’ll need a shopping cart that supports recurring billing.
How do I make this happen? Is there a web hosting service that includes this feature, or do I have to purchase some kind of add-on deal? And how much more is it likely to cost me than a regular shopping cart?
Thanks for your help!
I’m Sorry i wasn’t clear. I’m looking to possibly start a web hosting service and would like to know what type of server is generaly used in the bussiness. Size, speed, and operating systems any info that might help. Thank You

Well, i’m creating a website using HTML, but I can’t afford any web hosting services, as i’m too young to get a job. I was just wondering if anyone knew of a good web hosting service I could use. Oh yeah, PLEASE do not suggest downloading PHP and MySql or Apache, because I’ve tried and it never works. So… yeah.
Well, this isn’t exactly what i’m looking for. I have the webstie built, I just need to find a free service that will "host" it. By hosting, I mean someone to put it online, or to make it available to the internet.
Hello,
I just got the newest version of Joomla but I’m having trouble finding a free sub-domain to host it on. Does anyone know of a free web hosting service that installs Joomla or has PHP, MySQL and Apache? Those are the three requirements to install Joomla but I know that there are some free web hosters that already offer Joomla installed. Please I need this urgently as I was charged with the duty of creating my schools website.
Thanks,
Pedro
Here’s the setup:
1) The web server is Apache 2.x on Ubuntu 8.10
2) The router is a U.S. Robotics 5461 (password protected)
3) Internet access is DSL through AT&T (dynamic IP)
4) The web hosting service is No-IP.com
I cannot seem to (find the correct information to) setup the computer as a web host. I know I am so close and yet so far. Here’s what I have been able to do thus far:
I believe I have been able to make the LAN IP address static via the "Network Configuration" (or "Network Connections") window in Ubuntu by editing "Wired" > "Auto eth0" > "IPv4 Settings" where I changed the "Method" to "Manual" and adding an "Address" with the desired IP for that computer, thus, hopefully making it static.
Anyhow, I have Apache installed, and when I go to "http://localhost/" it comes up with the test page. However, when I attempt to access the no-ip.com address, it get’s back to my router, undoubtedly, but it requests the router’s username and password. When I type this info in, instead of the test webpage, it displays the router’s firmware.
In an attempt to forward the port, I have added both a TCP and a UDP for "Port Forwarding" within the router’s firmware with a "LAN port range" of "80 to 80" and the "LAN IP address" with the static IP address that, previously, I had manually inputted. This did not take care of the matter.
What (else) do I need to do?
Thanks!
I am looking for a web hosting service for my basic website/blog that offers community server either pre installed or via a one click or easy install.
For /month, Intuit offers a Web hosting service, with a site builder with over 2,000 templates. Unless they start offering the same service, do you think other Web designers will be rooted out by the very low-cost service?
I’m still a little confused. If I get a free domain name from a web hosting service, I don’t need a server. If start paying money per month for a web site, do I need to download a server, for example, Apache? If not, what is Apache and that stuff for? Thanks.
I’m looking for a web hosting service that has the following features:
unlimited hosting space
unlimited site bandwidth
host unlimited domains
unlimited pop email accounts
unlimited ftp
free domain
accepts paypal
costs less than per month
has a monthly payment option
doesn’t require a whole years worth of service charge up front
I created a website for my wife’s small business using Webzpro for .95 a month. The price is excellent for all they give you. Unfortunately I have a difficult time using the RV Site Builder program they provide. I’m looking low-priced web hosting service that uses a click and drag type program, but also still gives you a lot of storage space, bandwidth, at least 10 web pages, etc.
Wanting to give something back, I’m toying with the idea of setting-up a small web-hosting service to provide free hosting for a select few… probably by using sub-domains (e.g. site1.mydomain.com, site2.mydomain.com,…) for each.
The obvious choice would be to set-up a web-server and stuff on one of my own computers, but neither my internet-connection nor projected up-time is good enough.
I was therefor wondering if there are any server-parks that allows me to rent (cheaply) a Linux/Unix server for such a purpose, and manages keeping it up?
I would need Apache, PHP and MySQL for sure, and the ability to add packages of PHP scripts freely. I doesn’t matter too much if the server is specifically to be used for web-services, or if it’s set-up more for general purposes… though the latter is preferable. I basically want "my own" Linux machine — to do with as I please — with a killer connection, and someone to keep it up-and-running.

I need a good, reliable web hosting service I can use personally and recommend to others. Any ideas?
I am searching for a web hosting service that can give me reliable service, my own domain names, a series of email accounts, PHP capabilities, decent storage space, and not cost much. Does anyone know of any businesses that are particularly good and well-known?
I’m a web developer and I’m looking for a place to host my own site, as well as recommend to potential clients. Reliability, security, and price are particularly important.
Looking for a cheap and reliable web hosting service provider who can support ASP.NET 3.5 SP1, I’ve found some useful information on the page
http://www.webhost4lifereview.com/aspnet-35-hosting
Anyone can give another option?
Best Regards,
I recently lost my website when Geocities was shut down.
I am in the process of rebuilding it in iWeb ‘08 complete with a hit counter and whatever else I would like to put on my website.
I was wondering if someone had any suggestions for a free web hosting service complete with access to the FTP servers.
I want the hosting site to be iWeb friendly as well because that’s what I’ll be primarily using.
I am planning to get a domain. I have a web hosting service. I would like to know if I should buy one from separate domain site (like Yahoo) or from my web host?
What if I change my web host? would I have hard time getting my domain as well if I buy from them? Do they charge a lot for domain, when you change the host?
