So I just order an unmanaged VPS hosting. I would to install GNOME and VNC on the server I order since I need to run a game server on it.

The server OS is Ubuntu and the distro is fredora. Where and how do I start installing both of these softwares on the server I order? I tried google but it I’m lost.

I would like to make a VPS hosting company, like BODHOST’s VPS’es and others. Basically just order a VPS and I can give a virtual machine to you and allocate resources. What server software would do the same on Debian linux?

I got a Ubuntu Vps and i want to make a sub domain. images.MyDomain.TLD I try ed editing the apache2 V-host file and no luck. I rebooted the server twice and no luck. Can someone help me or point me the right way?

After a year and a half of hosting a CGI based database site with a shared hosting company, resulting in occasional server overloads and web site shutdowns, it’s obvious that I need to change my hosting plan. My former hosting company says that the CGI scripts are causing the overloads. Would a VPS hosting plan be a good alternative for me? Does anyone know any good, reliable VPS hosting companies?

I originally bought a 128mb monthly plan . I didn’t expect the site to be so popular but unfortunately the server keeps crashing and I can’t keep the site up. I just need to know how much ram will be needed for 1k+ hits a day running glype proxy on the VPS.
