Hello, comparing 3 products now:

1. Quickbooks Pro
2. Microsoft Office Accounting Professional 2008
3. Quick Home & Business

Which is is better for my business, I have a Web Design & Web Hosting business, and would like to find out if any one had experience in those software to provide comments.

Thanks for your help!

As I understand it, in order to create a website you must first register a domain name and buy a web space.

Having a registered domain name allows you to have a simple url you choose, like www.example.com, instead of something like www.geocities.com/example.

The web space is where you store your html, css, etc files.

If this isn’t a correct understanding please correct me.

So my first questions: If you register your own domain name, but want to use free web hosting, can you make your url direct the user to the files saved on the free webhosting? In this case, after accessing the website will your registerred domain name still be in the address bar, or will the webhosting address be visible?

Second: Can you recommend any good web hosting sites that don’t have banner ads?

Third: If you answered positively to the last 3 questions, is there any concievable reason why someone like me, creating a small low traffic site, would regret paying to register a domain name and not paying for commercial web space?

Thanks for your help

I’m getting ready to start a new online business and I’m looking for the right web hosting service to go with for my site.

The main product I’ll be selling on the site is subscription-based, which means that I’ll need a shopping cart that supports recurring billing.

How do I make this happen? Is there a web hosting service that includes this feature, or do I have to purchase some kind of add-on deal? And how much more is it likely to cost me than a regular shopping cart?

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

I am a web designer of sorts and I like to create websites for my self and others. I want to start hosting my websites and my clients websites on my server (so that I can offer more support my clients are not tech savvy and need something fully managed plan). I am an optimist and hope one of my many websites can get high traffic. My websites are designed using php, I am familiar with Apache and Mysql and have had some experience with a virtual dedicated server before. I would like to know the cost of running these such websites and the cost for hardware. I want to run a web server and an a separate sql server. I was also thinking of starting with a used prolient or something along those lines maybe U1 or U2. Any suggestions will be appreciated and welcome. As I said before I am an optimist and want something that is scalable reliable and fast(and cheap too)I plan to run something along the lines of 400 single page websites(could be more with time) and 2-3 more complex with search options and data bases ( the works) with a good UI. I know I am asking for a lot but hope you guys and gals can help me out.

Thanks for your help in advance

I’m opening a baked goods delivery business in my town. It is a small area with only two other towns that are close that I will deliver to so first off I don’t need for people to be able to search me out on the net. The other things I need are the ability to put in an order form and a view my cart area. I also want customers to have the ability to pay at the site using Paypal. I’d love to have a very low cost or no cost web hosting site that is simple to use since my needs are few. Thanks for your help in advance.

Looking for a web host that provides a solid, user-friendly shopping cart that can be integrated with Paypal and is not buggy. Which web hosts do you like for ecommerce? Thanks for your help!

P.S. Experienced web developer looking for a new host for my personal web site after using the same company for many years. Just looking to find out which ecommerce hosts people like these days. Thanks!
