I want to create a professional looking website for my restaurant and not really sure how to go about it.
I used a IT company before and they have done all the hard work for me (create a website, provided with domain and email) Problems started when I asked them to update few bits and bobs not only I had to spend considerable amount of time to explain why I want the website to be updated, pay additional money for few photos to be added but also sketch the whole thing for them and still the ‘updated’ product did not meet my requirements.
I was hoping that you could recommend me some software (preferably with free trial) that would allow me to build a commercial website.
Something that would be fairly easy to use, will allow me to make changes to the website at any time also could you please recommend any web host’s that would allow me to yet again buy domain and email?

previously i asked the following question that how do i get free web hosting and web space, and i got some answers mentioning that there is no such free hosting of your own web site. Of course there are some organizations that will provide free hosting and free web space but at the end of your domain name they will add their domain name i.e "www.mysite.theirsite.com’. so they told that in order to have a web sites of your own without their names at the end, one has to pay some money. so now what i am asking you people is "PLEASE TELL ME THOSE ORGANIZATIONS THAT WILL PROVIDE HOST NAMES AND WEB SPACE AND HOSTING FACILITIES FOR LOW COSTS ( i.e CHEAP RATES) so please inform me those who will charge low costs for hosting the web sites, and who will charge lesser money than any other organizations for registering the hostname to me. Right now we’re using Network Solutions, and we’ve noticed that the email can be really slow and it takes a long time for messages to transfer. We also require remote MYSQL connections.
Right now I’ve got my eye on Hostgator & Justhost, they seem pretty good for the money. Anybody know how reliable the email is with these companies?

I’m still a little confused. If I get a free domain name from a web hosting service, I don’t need a server. If start paying money per month for a web site, do I need to download a server, for example, Apache? If not, what is Apache and that stuff for? Thanks.
