Ok this is what I want to do. I want to be able to host my own web site, host games, backup my data, and be able to access my data from any where. I believe I need Microsoft Server 2008 Standard, but I’m not sure. I can build the system myself, but I have never worked with Windows Server so I’m not sure on what to get.

I’ve purchased my domain and purchased a web host but I have designed my web page with microsoft frontpage. My web-host has sent me details on FTP using FileZilla?? I have no idea what I’m supposed to be using FTP for and I now need some help and direction as to what to do. Even if somebody can list just the basic steps of what I need to do then I can research each step a little further myself it would help me so much as there is way too much info on the net for me to understand and interpret (website designers slang is way too hard lol).

We have a Microsoft Windows 2000 Server environment with approximately 8 Windows 2000 servers and 80 workstations.

We are not running Active Directory or any domain based policies. Its a simple network really. We currently use Outlook 2003 with POP3 email that is hosted by our ISP.

We want to deploy Microsoft Exchange server so that Outlook 2003 can use more advanced features like calendaring, etc. We need to also have Outlook Web Access.

Do we need to convert to active directory, or can I do this without having to convert right now?

What I’m looking for is a place where I can upload a document (like something that is in Microsoft Word) that can be viewable by other people. You know, somewhere where I can give people my link and they are able to go there and look at the document that I posted. Hi I have created my web site through microsoft publisher,
I have got a domain and hosting.

When I goto file manager I upload my HTML file then I create a image folder and uploaded my files.

When I go back to my HTML and view it the writing is there but no images are there.

I am a newbie when it comes to website design. I initially created a website using a website creater and template provided to me by the hosting company. I then hired a programmer who added onto and made my initial page look better. I now need to be able to edit the static pages so I can correct text, links, etc. I have Microsoft Expression Web 2.0. My programmer instructed me to go into Computer and type in fttp://mysite.com. I did and I copied the .html files onto my computer. I now have the files open in Expression Web but I don’t know what to do once I change the text. When I Browser Preview them it’s plain text with a white background. Even when I hit Publish it says it published but I don’t see the change on my site. What am I doing wrong?

In Microsoft Publisher I have developed my website with video and text. On each page I have changed the "Web Page Options" so it has the description and keywords to help people find the site through search engines. Then I have saved it under "Publish to the Web…" and I assume I will later upload that to the hosting server? I am not sure how I load the site to the web, how the hosting works, etc.

I need your help understand the role hosting plays, how that works, and its relationship with advertising. I want no ads on the site. Any further comments on what to do in Microsoft Publisher are appreciated.

And as for the video in Publisher, I first loaded the wmv file to YouTube and pasted the embed code in a box called "HTML Code Fragment" in Publisher.

On a web site I manage I have a Microsoft SQL database.

As administrator I would like to easily edit, access, delete, add any record in the database tables while the database is on the server where the site is hosted.

Is there any software to do this?

I dont have Enterprise Manager or any fancy tool …

Sure I could create an administration section on the web site but it would be a lost of time since I am the only one which has access to the database.
