I have these killer Ideas and great names already to start my own company. BUT I don’t know were to start I see that there is a lot of competences to start a company like GoDaddy which is a domain and hosting company. Now the Market share for the company is very big to make my company successful and for my first company i don"t think i should go into the domain registration industry. Then I would like to take a lot market share to Value Click the Advertising network I want to compete with them and make my company a good brand till they decide to maybe buy us to take us out of business.

What company is better to start and should be a great shot in the heart for market share?

I’m looking for a review/rating site for web hosting and domain registration.

I registered my domain with yahoo.com; my host is awardspace.com, a free provider. I don’t want to use yahoo’s forwarding (standard or masked).

So should I do one of the following:

Change the name server with yahoo?
Create an A or MX record?
Transfer the domain registration to awardspace?

Right now my domain could be www.mydomain.com and yahoo transfers it to mysubdomain.awardspace.com, which appears in the address bar. I’d like the final result to be www.mydomain.com, and ideally, I’d like to keep the registration with yahoo. Your suggestions would be appreciated.

What provider would offer the following for a small business in one package / bill ? Preferably Turnkey.
Domain registration
Data hosting
domain email
Visa/MC transactions at reasonable rate
Web design template starter kit would be a plus.

You must have url links to the business in question you are recommending to be chosen as a winner for this question.

Thanks!

I am looking for a site that does web hosting, and domain registration. Please Help! :)

register.com screwed up my DNS and I’m waiting for the correct settings to filter through the internet now. This screw up made me look at alternate registrars, and I see that the costs vary dramatically - example: register.com charges per year for a .com but godaddy.com charges . This is for basic domain registration, not hosting, email, or dns. I don’t see any reason to stay with register.com, but I want to make sure that there isn’t some risk that I’m not aware of with a cheap registrar like godaddy.

i want to register 2 no domain names + web histing from yahoo. but do not know how to make payment. Please tell how to make payment for domain registration and web hosting from Pakistan , Islamabad

I am in searching of best domain name registration and web hosting plan.Is there any affordable web hosting with domain registration plan for cheap coast?

Thanks in advance……

Is there some variance in the degree of ownership one has of their domain, whether they buy from one company or another? I’m just trying to understand what constitutes or justifies the difference. -I have seen single domain registrations for as low as .95, to as high as (actually, sometimes higher).

Also, please share with me what domain registration sites, hosting sites, and web design sies and/or services you have had good experiences with.

I am about to build 3 pages, having never built a single one, before. So, I am a total newbie, know no html or other programming languages, and, at least one of my sites may need to be a portal (and, I am told, possibly php).

I welcome your suggestions.
Please be kind, and share your best.

Thank you.

I’m looking to buy a particular .com domain name that’s listed as available, however I’m on a budget, I’m also looking for hosting.

If you know of a company/site, can you list it here for me to review, and list it’s pro’s and con’s.

I’m looking for the following features with my domain registration/hosting:

Multiple email addresses, (around 10 should suffice).
Construction tool and HTML editor, (my knowledge of HTML and CSS is intermediate at best, but I do have some widgets and custom HTML that I would like to impliment in conjunction with the construction tool).
Very cheap, or free, with no advertising.

Thanks for your suggestions.

any this kind of solution or a solution with domain registration at less that 4 dollars

What’s a good, cheap site for domain registration?

I also want to be able to transfer my domain, to my hosting service.

I only want the .99 (if not then ) a year or 1st year domain registration. I might host from another site. I know yahoo domains offers this to new customers but, i need to register 2 domains for my company and want the best price. Does yahoo offer 4 domains each at .99 a year for new customers if it’s in one order? What’s their limit in one order? Question is for domain registration for .com not for any hosting.

I found that in yahoo small business for domain registration they have offered .95 yearly. I want to know whether this offer includes web hosting or I have to pay separately for web hosting?

Is there any companies / websites out there that offer completely free website hosting and domain registration?

I have found some that offer from hosting, but registration costs, or free registration but you have to pay for hosting.

Could anyone point me in the direction of getting both for free? And preferably not a sub-domain of another website (ie. MySite.FreeWebs.com)

Thanks!

Hai friend,
I have one doubt, is it possible to register domain name one vendor, website hosting another vendor….
because some vendors asking small amount for domain registration but there website hosting plan cost is higher, some vendors asking domain registration high amount but website hosting plan are feasible….That’s why i got a doubt is it possible to register domain one vendor and website hosting another vendor…

My current registrar/host is Doteasy, a site I knew nothing about; I just Googled for domain registration and that was the first thing I clicked. When I got my domain, two years ago it was only 8 dollars for a year, and I knew nothing of registering and hosting. Within those two years, I have seen Doteasy’s prices and sales jump around like crazy: 30 dollars to renew, renew now for only 4 dollars, free renewal with new registration, etc… I have discovered that I probably should have shopped around first. I am under the free hosting at Doteasy. It has bare minimum in terms of space and bandwith (no PHP). I have parked at some free hosts, but they have ads. I’m looking for good solid registrar with free-to-decent hosting prices (maybe like 50-100 dollars for a span-of-months of hosting that I wouldn’t have constantly worry about expiring). I don’t need like Youtube-size hosting, but I’m looking for up to date PHP, a few databases, cheap and stable domain registrations, yadda yadda yadda. I exhibit my artwork on my site (illustrations). I’ve always wanted a site, that say, I could put "raunchy filth art" on without worrying about getting kicked. What is best?

I’m trying to figure out what expense category I use from an accounting perspective when it comes to web costs such as domain registration, hosting, etc. My bank calls it "utilities", i’ve been using "other expenses" in quickbooks, which i don’t like to do! Thanks!! (If anyone knows what category to use for ordering checks from my bank, that would help too ;^) )

1and1.com or 101hosting.com?

Or any other inexpensive recommendations out there for web-hosting and domain registration? I’m starting up a small business.

Also, are every web-hosting websites compatible with dreamweaver (CS3) creations?

Thanks.

I have heard more than once now that it is good practice for online buisnesses to keep their domain registration and web host companies separate? Can somebody explain to me why this would be if it’s so?
